The Association has always sought to bring past pupils and staff together, recognising that now that communications have enabled people to be better connected than ever before, we offer more of an opportunity for everyone to gather together in Durham. For so many past pupils, it is the enduring love of the place and the friendships that were formed here are the enriching memory of their school career. The Association is more than a friendship club, but also a link back to the School and the Cathedral, and an opportunity, for those who wish to, to give back to the School.
DCSA enjoys a good relationship with both the Headmistress and the Master of the Choristers, as well as all others around both school and cathedral. Membership of DCSA is open to ALL former pupils of the school and is free to former pupils under the age of 22. Thereafter a small annual subscription of £10 applies. This covers the costs of two Newsletters annually as well as our other administrative costs. Accrued surpluses are donated to school or choir and we are proud in recent years to have been able to assist with a number of projects.
For more information about DCSA, please e-mail email@example.com
We always welcome new or returning members of whatever age, but particularly value the involvement of more recent school leavers wishing not to lose touch with their colleagues and the place where we all enjoyed such a privileged and special education.
We are always pleased to hear from former staff and pupils. Please do contact us if you would like to arrange a tour of The Chorister School.
Saturday 15 July 2017: Reunion Day
All former pupils of The Chorister School are invited to return to Durham on this day for the annual reunion.
We are delighted to announce the arrangements for the 2017 AGM and reunion of the DCSA / DCOCA. We look forward to welcoming back all former pupils of The Chorister School on this special day and encourage as many of you as possible to attend. Earlier this year, Canon Dr James Lancelot announced that he would retire as Master of the Chorister and Organist in July 2017. This reunion will enable us to pay tribute to James and Sylvia’s work and ministry in Durham.
Former members of the Cathedral Choir (choristers, choral scholars, lay clerks, organists) are invited to join with the Cathedral Choir to sing parts of Evensong. Parents and partners are welcome to attend the buffet lunch, the tours of the School and Open Treasure, the concert and the Prosecco reception and attend Evensong. The evening meal is only for past pupils, choristers, choral scholars, lay clerks, organists and colleagues aged 16 or over.
We ask that you return this booking form with a cheque (made payable to ‘DCOCA’) before Friday 30 June 2017 to: The Development Office, The Chorister School, The College, Durham, DH1 3EL. Numbers at the dinner are limited, so early booking is advised.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to ensure that we have your current contact details.
