1)-Choir of Singing Champions

The Singing Champions Choir has the dual objectives of singing for personal enjoyment and training, to support the ‘Champions' to work with children in their schools. The children in their schools will have the opportunity to feed into the DCYS (Durham Cathedral Young Singers Choir) which meets every Saturday morning to develop further their singing skills and enjoyment. (Please see information in Durham Cathedral Young Singers section)

The Singing Champions from each school involved with the Outreach Programme meet for  from 4.30- 6.00pm with the Director of Outreach to have fun and develop their teaching skills through singing.

The venue is in the LA area where the Outreach is focused.

The schools must commit 2 people from their schools to attend, 6 sessions in total, one session a fortnight.

The Director of Outreach has a resource pack for each school to support the singing champion to lead the singing with the children.

These sessions will be open to other teachers from other schools - information available via LA's.

The Singing Champions Choir is open to all who are already involved or would like to be involved with singing in schools.
