School Structure > Pre-Prep

Pre-prep is where the work of school starts.

This department is one of enjoyment, excellent attainment and with a truly caring, friendly atmosphere. Our qualified teachers with many years experience between them, plan and work together to give your child the best start possible.

We have a PE, dance and swimming coach, a music specialist who helps with music performances as well as singing and instrumental lessons, a special needs Teaching Assistant who helps children from all abilities to achieve their best, and a general Teaching Assistant who helps in all the classes with many different activities, especially ICT.

We offer a full range of out of school clubs, an after school care facility, and periodic outings to places of interest. The children particularly enjoy the trip where they get to be pirates for the day.

Communication with parents is good, frequent and offers support and friendship to parent and child.

Children are placed in 3 year groups, Purple, [reception], Silver [Y1] and Gold [Y2] and pastoral groups of not usually more than 15, and are taught with groups of usually no more than 15, often smaller depending on the activity

Children do most of their work with one teacher, but children work at some time or other with all the teachers in Pre-prep, learning to make relationships and building on skills which will take them through life.
