The House System

In 1st Form (year 3) all children become members of a House.  There is a strong sense of House loyalty, and siblings are automatically allocated the same House.  Boarders also join one of these Houses in addition to being members of the Boarding House. The Houses are named after former Bishops of Durham:

Flambard (red); Pudsey (blue); Skirlaw (green); Langley (yellow).

House points may be awarded to children throughout the year on an individual and team basis. The child who earns the most House points each term is presented with the Wilde Cup.

The House system is a wonderful way of encouraging children to work hard not only for personal achievement, but to best serve the interests of other members.  It also gives everyone the opportunity to represent their House in competitions.
